If you've ever been interested in learning jazz violin but never had the opportunity to start, this class is for you! Together we will learn the basics of jazz improvisation, and you will receive all the tools you need to start your journey.
The class will include a brief history of violin in jazz, emphasizing its origins and continued relevance in jazz through important figures such as Stuff Smith, Stéphane Grappelli, and more.
We will walk through the basics of improvisation, how to read a lead sheet, and practice methods for you to apply to any song. And you'll be the first to have access to my new digital downloads including a jazz violin fundamentals routine!

ABOUT
Jazz violinist, Zoe Imani Shepard, is performer, educator, and dancer based in Bloomington, Indiana. Her life is marked by love for pedagogy, creativity, curiosity, and the intersection between music and dance. Shepard regularly teaches, performs, and competes at swing dance events across the country as well as maintains a busy schedule organizing local swing dance events in her community, supporting the relationship between music and dance.
